Hyundai could launch its first electric model!



Hyundai Motors, the South Korean brand, is planning to launch its new electric model in the first trimester of 2016, according to the Yonhap news agency. The new model, a compact hatchback that Hyundai has been developing under the name AE, was supposed to be launched at the end of 2015, but it has been postponed until March 2016. It will be launched in the Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE), whose third edition will take place from March 18 to 24 in the Jeju Island. It will be the first pure electric Hyundai vehicle, so far, the South Korean brand had hybrids of its existing models – such as the Sonata -. Automotive market watchers expect the new model to overcome the Toyota Prius in terms of affordability and fuel efficiency.
